ברכות חמות לחברינו מיה בר הלל ונעם ניסן על זכייתם בפרס רוטשילד.

פרס רוטשילד, אחד הפרסים היוקרתיים ביותר שמוענקים לחוקרים בישראל, מוענק בשמונה תחומים, אחת לשנתיים בארבעה מן התחומים. שניים מארבעת הזוכים השנה הם ממכון ויצמן (ירון זילברברג בכימיה ופיסיקה, נעמה ברקאי במדעי החיים) וכאמור שניים מהאוניברסיטה העברית (מיה בר הלל במדעי החברה ונעם ניסן במתמטיקה, מדעי המחשב והנדסה).

מיה בר הלל היא חברת סגל (אמריטה) במחלקה לפסיכולוגיה ובמרכז פדרמן לחקר הרציונליות. תחומי המחקר העיקריים שבהם עוסקת מיה: שיפוט והחלטה, חשיבה הסתברותית, פרדוקסים וחידות והשפעת ציפיות על חוויות.
נעם ניסן  הוא חבר סגל בבית-הספר להנדסה ולמדעי המחשב ובמרכז פדרמן לחקר הרציונליות. תחומי המחקר העיקריים שלו: ההשקה בין מדעי המחשב, תורת המשחקים וכלכלה (תורת משחקים אלגוריתמית), כלכלה וחישוביות ושווקים ומכרזים אלקטרוניים. הבלוג שלו כאן. נעם הוא אחד היוזמים של תכנית הלימודים לתואר בוגר באינטרנט ובחברה שנפתה השנה, שמשותפת לפקולטה למדעי החברה ולבית-הספר להנדסה ולמדעי המחשב.

Congratulations to Maya Bar-Hillel and Noam Nisan, the recipients of the 2018 Rothschild Prize.
The Rothschild Prizes are awarded in recognition of original and outstanding research in eight fields. The prize is awarded every two years in four fields. Two of the recipients this year are from Weizmann Institute (Yaron Silberberg in Chemical and Physical Sciences, and Naama Barkai in Life Sciences), and two from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Maya Bar-Hillel in Social Sciences, and Noam Nisan in Mathematics/Computer Sciences and Engineering).

Maya Bar-Hillel is from the Psychology department at the faculty of social sciences, and the Federmann Center for the Study of Rationality. Her research interests include the psychology of judgment and decision making, Probabilistic reasoning, and Rationality.
Noam Nissan is from the Benin school of computer science and engineering, and the Federmann Center for the Study of Rationality. His research interests include the border of computer science, game theory, and economics, an area often called "Algorithmic Game Theory" or "Economics and Computation", and electronic markets and auctions.
